The new Pleasure will get a complete design overhaul and a more powerful motor as well!

Hero MotoCorp is set to launch the 2019 Pleasure on May 13. The entry-level scooter is set to receive its biggest update since 2017 and here’s what you can expect it:

New Design:

Over the years, Hero has given the Pleasure new colours and body graphics to keep it looking fresh in a sea of commuter scooters. However, the 2019 Pleasure is all set to get a complete design overhaul. The new Pleasure was spotted during an ad shoot last month and this gave us a glimpse of the new design language. Apart from new paint options and graphics, the 2019 Pleasure will receive a new front fender, turn indicators, headlamp cowl, side panels and tail lamp setup.

More Power, More Features!

The Pleasure is currently powered by a 102cc motor. However, we expect Hero to plonk a bigger engine, probably the 110cc engine that powers the Duet and Maestro Edge, into the 2019 model. In its current state of tune, this 110cc motor produces 8.15PS of power and 8.7Nm of torque.

In terms of features, the new Pleasure is likely to get an all-LED headlamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster. We also expect the new Pleasure to feature Hero’s i3S start-stop technology. This feature cuts off power supply to the engine when it senses that the vehicle is stationary. To start it again, all the rider has to do is twist the throttle a bit. Hero claims that this feature improves the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle.

Similar Underpinnings:

The 2019 Hero Pleasure is likely to feature the same suspension setup as the current model -- a trailing link type unit up front and a single shock absorber at the rear. We also expect it to get the same braking setup as the current model -- front and rear drum brakes with Integrated Braking System (IBS).

Will Command A Premium:

Hero hasn’t revealed the prices of the 2019 Pleasure yet, but we expect it to command a premium of around Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 over the current model, which will bring the final price to around Rs 49,000 to Rs 51,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price, the new Pleasure will be around Rs 1,000 more expensive than the Honda Activa i and Rs 2,000 more expensive the TVS Wego.

We will be reporting live from the launch event, so stay tuned to BikeDekho for more updates.
