The two metallic paint schemes were teased in the company’s recent TVC

  • The 2019 Dominar will now come in metallic red and silver colour options.
  • This should take the tally up to four different paint options - green, black, red and silver.
  • No price hike is expected for the new colours; it’ll continue to be priced at Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Bajaj Auto has teased two new paint schemes, red and silver, for the recently launched 2019 Dominar 400, in a TVC. Launched at Rs 1.73 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Dominar was initially available only in green and black shades. With the addition of the new colours, the motorcycle will now be available in a total of four different paint options.

The Chakan-based company added some extensive updates to the Dominar 400 for 2019. These include the addition of upside-down forks, a revised layout for its instrument cluster and some subtle cosmetic changes.

However, the biggest update came in the form of its reworked engine. Bajaj updated its 373.3cc, liquid-cooled engine with a DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) setup and a higher compression ratio of 12.1:1 instead of the previous 11.3:1.

Along with this, re-tuning the ECU has helped Bajaj extract 5PS more, taking the total power output to 40PS at 7000rpm. Peak torque, though, remains unchanged at 35Nm, although it's now delivered at 7,000rpm, 500rpm higher than before.
