Kawasaki is planning to launch Kawasaki Z800 in India. The bike was recently unveiled at 2012 INTERMOT motor show and is likely to replace Kawasaki Z750. The Z800 will be available in two different variants– Z800 and Z800e, which are same on styling and looks but different in power outputs. The Z800 belts out a maximum power output of 111 bhp with an 83 Nm of peak torque, on the other hand, the Z800e comes as a slightly toned down variant with 94 bhp and 76 Nm.

Kawasaki Z800 has been designed to replace Kawasaki European best-seller Z750 and has a bigger engine and improved styling than its predecessor. The Z800 is claimed to offer better performance across the rev range, with sharper focus on lower to mid revs. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission; Smooth-shifting 6-speed transmission has a gear for every situation, from low-speed city traffic to high-speed highway use. A larger rear sprocket (43T>>45T) emphasises the Z800’s already more powerful acceleration.

The chassis has been modified for better balance and communication for the rider. While maintaining a highly sporty nature, the Z800's friendly character makes it an accommodating mount even for beginners. Increased road holding performance, and hence traction, on all types of road surfaces enables both sporty and friendly riding characteristics.  The bike features two-way adjustable 41mm KYB fork at front and Bottom-link uni-Trak gas charged KYB shock absorber at rear. The bike also has ABS as optional feature.

We are expecting this bike in India, it has an In-line four engine and all that can work in India. How far the pricing is concerned it might cost somewhere around Kawasaki Ninja 650R as it is a naked sport bike and saves a lot on front fairing and styling elements. The bike might come via CKD route same as Kawasaki Ninja 250R and Kawasaki Ninja 650R and will be assembled at Bajaj’s state of art Chakan plant. We are expecting this bike to arrive in India by mid-2013.
