- The Unknown HeroThis is the review of My Scooter Yamaha Alpha. It has been 5 long years it had been with me, but till today I am not having single problem with it. It had crossed around 40k kilometres in it's Odometer. I have drived it on the badest roads but it never loose hope and nor I. It has the longest seat in the segment. 3 people can comfortably sit on it. But I will not suggest you to do it. It gives a mileage of around 48km/l in City and around 52-55km/l on Highway. It has 113 cc Engine which produces 7.1 bhp and 8nm of Torque. Yes, I know the Engine is not that peppy but The Biggest Plus Point of the Engine is its Mid Range as you Throttle the Accelerator it gives the punch to you. It has a Boot Space of 21 ltr. Better than its rival. The suspension is Rigid which make u feel even small pot holes but makes it handling better on High speed.Read More2 1

- Poor serviceI am riding this scooter from past 8 months. Its self-start stopped working unexpectedly and from that day I’m working its uneasy kick-start. Even after a service, the self-start didn’t come to life. I waited for a few weeks for the new spare part, which made me realize the service was simply pathetic. I have been through the same situation when I had Yamaha’s SS125. Also, the company claims that the fuel tank of the scooter stores 5.5 liter, whereas it gets full before 4.5 liter and I hate it when I have to stand in the long queue at the petrol pump. I thought Yamaha was a better two-wheeler brand in the market for which I am highly disappointed today. I should have bought Mahindra Rodeo that would have left me with few good thousands. However, performance of the machine is a bit on the higher side. Pick-up of the scooter I simply amazing, I can feel the acceleration as soon as I pull the throttle. Mileage of the scooter is quite decent, I get around 35-40kmpl. The scooter is also comfortable as it has a fine under seat storage.Read More1
- Worth spending money onYamaha Apha is a great scooter, very smooth ride, the engine is very efficient and the design is simply making the ride impeccable. I have never ridden such a good scooter ever in my life. The only thing I’m not happy about is its low fuel efficiency. On the other hand all the things about the scooter are pretty comfortable. Even, it is easy for my wife to ride as she takes it out to buy groceries and other household products from the nearby market. The under seat storage is large and it holds my helmet and a few other articles easily. The leg room is fine and I can also keep my bag there while heading towards office. The braking system is quite responsive and the suspension kit works great and offers healthy stability. Tyres are big and maintain the stability and traction of the ride throughout. I also like the design of the scooter as it is simple and elegant, something like evergreen I would call it. The scooter is really worth spending money on and I am happy I did spend on it.Read More3 2
- Yamaha Alpha a must try in its segmentWith the promising mileage of 62km/l Yamaha Alpha is heating up the road with its looks, design, performance and storage space making their claim, concrete, as a family scooter. In this article we will look into depth with a 360 degree view to judge Alpha. Looks & Design: Claiming to be a family scooter Yamaha has changed the appearance of Alpha from its previous scooter Ray and Ray-Z. The scooter is well designed not so bold rather more decent. The headlight coming above, large and comfortable seat that is smooth to ride in the city. The storage capacity which is 21 liter is the most talked about feature as it saves us from carrying extra baggage to the market and actually create sense to be a family scooter. Engine performance & efficiency: The engine is powered by 113cc air cooled with continuously variable transmission provides smooth acceleration. It is not the fastest scooter on the street but family scooter is not meant to be one. Ride quality: The light weight of 104 kg and smooth handling makes it a comfortable ride especially in the streets and in the traffic. It has safe and secure ride with telescopic forks and firm suspension. If compared to competition like Activa and Maestro they are more powerful as a ride but Alpha is decent though. Verdict: The claim of Yamaha Alpha to be the family scooter justifies with the features they have added. The generic feature like mileage looks and performance on which it stands well but apart from it where Alpha wins over other is the storage capacity which 21 liter. With the ex-showroom price of Delhi being 47,335 INR it would be good idea to go for Alpha.Read More3 4
