Two decades ago, Bhavish Aggarwal disrupted the ride-hailing business in our country with Ola and now with Ola Electric, the company has electrified the electric scooter segment by launching the company’s first electric scooter, the S1 Pro, 15 August 2019 and grabbing a lion’s share of the market over the following years.

Ola Electric has a gargantuan manufacturing plant dubbed 'FutureFactory' in Tamil Nadu. The Ola Electric plant is spread across 500 acres and is claimed to have an annual capacity of 1 crore two-wheelers. Apart from a massive manufacturing plant, Ola Electric also has plans to set up a humongous charging infrastructure. The company has plans to set up over 1 lakh charging points in over 400 cities across India. All these charging stations will have fast chargers that are claimed to provide 75km of range in just 18 minutes.

Ola Electric offers a range of electric scooters under the S1 family. The most affordable Ola electric scooter is Ola S1 Air, which is available in 2,3 and 4kWh variants, with prices starting from Rs 84,999. The mid-spec Ola S1 comes in 2 and 3kWh variants, with a starting price of Rs 99,999. The range-topping Ola S1 Pro is sold in only one variant, retailing at Rs 1,24,999 (all prices ex-showroom, including FAME II subsidy). 

As for Ola Electric’s future plans, the company aims to launch multiple electric motorcycles catering to different genres. The first Ola electric bike can be expected to be launched in 2024. Apart from this, Ola also plans to launch multiple electric cars, the first of which can be expected to arrive in 2025
