Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd (YMIS) has launched disc brake variant of its latest 125cc commuter- Saluto, which has been priced at Rs. 54,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from the addition of the front disc brake, it also gets more interesting graphics with 4 new colour options- Glory Green, Bold Blue, Dashing White and Majestic Red. These updates make it Rs. 2,500 expensive than the standard variant, while the other specifications of the motorcycle remain unchanged.

Yamaha Saluto was launched on 17th April, 2015 with a price tag of Rs. 52,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and now it is available in two trims. The company has proposed this motorcycle as the most fuel efficient 125cc motorcycle in India, claiming to return up to 78kmpl. It also looks more stylish than many other products in the respective segment.
Powering the motorcycle is a 125cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine based on the Blue Core technology. The company says that the technology helps in improving combustion efficiency and power loss reduction, resulting in optimum performance. The motor makes a maximum power of 8.2bhp at 7,000rpm and delivers a peak torque of 10.1Nm at just 4,500rpm, using a carburettor type fuel system.
Running on 18” alloy wheels, Yamaha Saluto comes with 80/100 section tubeless tyres. It gets telescopic forks at the front and two spring loaded hydraulic dampers at the rear. Introduced in the 125cc commuter segment, the bike competes against the offerings like Hero MotoCorp Glamour, Honda CB Shine, Bajaj Discover 125/125M and TVS Phoenix.

- An overview about Yamaha Saluto 125It's a great commuter bike which is very much ideal for the city commutes and occasional highway rides even if it's a commuter bike it could able to sustain speeds upto 70km/hr in highway without any any struggle and it is a great mile muncher and I've done 2 lakh kms in this bike and it is still giving me a mileage average of 67 to 70kmpl and the aftermarket support is also good and service is very good in the showroom and service centre and in overall it's a very good bike and it's a bummer Yamaha discontinued this bike.Read More

- Best Bike In This Price RangeI bought this bike on 02 Jul 2015. Till now, I don't have any problem regarding the engine and its electrical system. Yet, I have a very common issue with the speedometer cable. The mileage is good. Since I used this bike in hilly areas it gives me around 50kmpl. I hope it will last 7 more years without any major repair. But, one should know that I take very good care of it. Without caring, nothing will last long. Yamaha Saluto is the best in its price range.Read More1
