The base variant of the Ray ZR 125 FI is just Rs 300 more than the base version of the Fascino 125 FI!

  • The Yamaha Ray ZR range was unveiled along with the Fascino 125 FI and the MT-15 BS6 in December 2019.
  • Both the standard model and the Ray ZR 125 FI Street Rally get a sporty design language.
  • Yamaha claims the Ray ZR 125 FI range offers 16 per cent more mileage than its BS4 counterpart.

Yamaha has finally launched the Ray ZR 125 and the Ray ZR 125 FI Street Rally just a day before Auto Expo 2020. The scooter comes in two variants for the standard Ray ZR 125 FI: front disc and front drum. On the other hand, the Ray ZR 125 FI Street Rally comes with a front disc brake as standard. Their prices are as follows:

Product name

Variants

Ex-showroom Delhi

Ray ZR 125 FI

Front drum brake

Rs 66,730

Front disc brake

Rs  69,730

Ray ZR Street Rally 125 FI

Rs  70,730

Interestingly, the base version of the scooter is just Rs 300 costlier than the entry-level variant of the Fascino 125 FI, while the front disc brake version of the Ray ZR 125 FI is dearer than the corresponding variant of the Fascino 125 FI by Rs 800.

Powering the Ray ZR 125 FI range is a new 125cc air-cooled, fuel-injected motor which generates 8.2PS at 6500rpm and 9.7Nm at 5000rpm. Yamaha claims the motor offers 16 per cent better mileage than the BS4-compliant 113cc Ray ZR, at 58kmpl. And at 99kg kerb, the scooter is impressively light for its class too.
