Yamaha Motors refuse to relaunch its RX100 model in India

Yamaha Motor Private Limited has refused to re-launch its old model Yamaha RX 100 in India. The company was already planning to re-introduce its famed RX100 model. Yamaha Motor will carry the same design of the earlier bike, which produced effective results from 1985 till 1996.

Some news agencies reported that the Japanese bike maker is presently looking for different possibility including engine type, style and other factors before launching it. The company said that they will not introduce it as two-stroke model. Yamaha RX100 will support the stricter emission norms might be BS-IV and also include four-stroke engine. However, Pankaj Dubey, national business head, India Yamaha Motor Private Limited told reporters, "There are no intends on re-launching of RX100. We are keeping eyes in the market of entry level segment bikes". The company can't introduce the RX 100 with a two-stroke engine and we are working on a four-stroke for the bike, he also added.

Yamaha RX 100 is equipped with a 98cc two-stroke single cylinder air-cooled motorcycle, which was unveiled by Yamaha 11 years ago in partnership with Escorts Limited. It is coming in original Cherry-red, Flamboyant-Blue, Silver and Black colours. The only major change that the bike underwent that it has been modified from a 6V electrical system to a 12V system. The first lot of Yamaha RX 100 bikes are CKD's and simply assembled in India.
