Yamaha managed to stump everyone with the launch of the new Fascino 125 Hybrid. The addition of the SMG (Smart Motor Generator) system makes it India’s first hybrid scooter. However, that’s not enough to base your purchase decision on. So, we’ve laid out all its pros and cons as well.
Pros
Lightweight
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid weighs just 99 kg which makes it one of the lightest 125cc scooters currently sold in India. What’s even more impressive is that the weight has been kept under check despite adding the SMG system. Overall, this translates to very likeable and agile handling.
Boosted Motor
The inclusion of the Smart Motor Generator system is a boon for the scooter. The torque has gone up by 0.6Nm and the Fascino 125 Hybrid is also quicker off the line than before. The boost also aids the scooter’s city performance and it now returns even more mileage (68.75kmpl against 65.92kmpl).
Premium Features
Yamaha now offers the Fascino 125 Hybrid with an LED headlight and Bluetooth connectivity (both available only on the top-spec variant) as well. This bumps up its value for money quotient and brings in on par with the competition, on paper.
Cons
Firm Ride Quality
While the motor is quite peppy and the handling is on point, the ride quality has taken a hit on the new Fascino 125. The rear suspension is a bit too stiff and you’d feel a lot of jolts while riding over undulations.
Slightly Dated LCD Console
Yamaha has equipped the scooter with a full digital display, but the unit looks quite boring and misses out on certain readouts like average fuel efficiency and a distance to empty indicator.
Should You Buy It?
As you can see, Yamaha has made some good efforts to improve the Fascino 125 and it’s now among the most well-rounded 125cc scooters on sale. The Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid not only packs more features and handles well, but also offers commendable fuel efficiency. - Good driving with pillion .Good driving with pillion. Nice pickup power, must maintain periodically without fail or it will issue its mileage and performance. Good option for daily based and long rides without much shivering of handels in the road. - FEEDBACK ON FASCINO 1252025 January I have purchased this fascino 125 vehicle, very comfortable journey and nice experience while riding in this scooter but cost is little more expensive in my opinion. It would better if it can affordable at low budget. This is eco friendly vehicle. I have ride this vehicle almost 5,000 km very nice experience. I felt very easy to control, less weight easy to turn suddenly, good budget friendly vehicle, very smooth while riding no shaking or vibration. Yes, I will definitely recommend to my family, Relatives and friends. - Review after 4 years of ridingFor Looks and spacious, because of the hybrid system , bluetooth connectivity, other scooter have classy but i selected for over all features, other scooters does not offers many features at that time. Engine get noisy within 300 km if we have habbit of sudden throttling and habit of rash driving so bike must be handled slow and gradual increase in throttle then we wont get any noise,it will settle after several km of slow and steady throttling, speedometer wire get become faulty 6 months once , scooter will accelerate itself after 6 month because of some fault in accelerator wire at fist it will 10 km/h then if we did not fix it with mechanic it will gradually increase and go upto 40 km/h when we start the bike its act a cruise control but we need do unwanted breaking and loss in mileage, breaks must be periodically tightened other it will become loose, I do not have experience with other bike hence this is my first bike I do not have any experience with other scooters so I do not have knowledge and experience to comment about this , bike have good pickup once we reached a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour then we can over take anything without any lag , but at first 40 km we will feel rubber band effect .Read More1 6
- it can be a choice but not so good choice 😁the speed meter wire is not up to the mark.. every pot hole feels like you got into it and the front wheel touches the protector so it makes noise. the real world mileage for an average driver would come down to 50kmpl.
