The latest-gen Interceptor 650 gets a few more colours over its predecessor

Royal Enfield has finally launched the 2023 Interceptor 650 at a price tag of Rs 3,03,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards, and this time along with a comprehensive list of updates, there are a few new colours as well. So here’s what to look out for.

Existing colours:

Canyon Red

The first entrant gets a red fuel tank, with a black side panel. This paint scheme looks simple, and a bit sporty as well

Mark 2

It features a dual-colour (chrome finish with red surrounds) tank, and a black side panel. It’s perfect for those who want their motorcycle to look blingy.

Sunset Strip

It comes with three colours on the tank – black with a red stripe running along the bottom, separated by a golden pinstripe – and a black side panel, and overall looks quite premium.

All the three colour schemes come with blacked-out fork arms and spoke rims as well.

New colours:

Cali Green

This is quite similar to the Canyon Red, though its fuel tank gets a new dark green colour that exudes a militaresque appeal. The rest – black side panels, spoke wheels, and neutral silver-finished engine – stays unchanged.

Black Pearl

The next colour scheme can be availed as part of Royal Enfield’s Make It Yours (MIY) programme. Sure to turn heads, it features a dual-tone tank, where the front half is white and rear half is black, with a red pinstripe between the colours with the Royal Enfield logo on top. The side panels, fork arms and spoke rims are blacked out here too.

Barcelona Blue

The Barcelona Blue colour gets a dark blue tank colour with a decal featuring a stylised orange to yellow gradient. But what truly sets is the blacked-out elements: the black 18-inch alloy wheels, and black finish on the engine and exhausts. If you’re looking for a colour that gives off retro vibes, the Barcelona Blue shade is the one for you.

Black Ray

The final addition – the most subtle of the lot – also gets the same alloy wheels and black treatment as the Barcelona Blue Colour. The tank colour is gloss black, but features a golden inset in the knee recess area, with four horizontal black pinstripes.

Before we leave

The new colour schemes, alloy wheels and black treatment no doubt look impressive. However, they come at a small cost: the discontinuation of the Orange Crush, Baker Express, Ventura Blue, and Downtown Drag colour schemes. And though the Baker Express colour scheme was our favourite, the Black Pearl colour scheme looks equally impressive.
