The Raider could be the brand’s first adventure motorcycle

  • It could be styled similar to the Hero XPulse 200.
  • Likely to be powered by a 250cc motor.
  • Expected to be priced around Rs 1.50 lakh.

TVS Raider Name Trademarked

TVS has trademarked the name ‘Raider’ and could use it for one of its upcoming motorcycles. We suspect it could be for a new adventure motorcycle, TVS’ first ever. Given the bikemaker’s expertise in the two-wheeled rallying circuit and Dakar, an adventure motorcycle could be next on its radar.

We expect the new motorcycle to be lightweight with minimal dual-sport style bodywork, like the Hero XPulse 200. TVS could equip it with features like an LED headlamp and even offer a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity from the new Apache RTR 200.

For performance, TVS could want to use a larger motor than the XPulse 200. One way to go around it would be having an enlarged Apache RTR 200 motor with an engine capacity of around 250cc. This would put its performance close to that of the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Like all adventure motorcycles, expect long-travel suspension with large, spoked wheels and dual-purpose tyres. TVS could also offer suspension preload adjustability, like the new Apache RTR 200. Given its vast expertise in rallying, we expect it to perform exceptionally well off-road.

In terms of pricing, we expect the Raider to be priced around Rs 1.50 lakh. This price point would help the TVS Raider bridge the gap between the Hero XPulse 200 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. At this point, all this is merely speculation but we will get a better picture in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates.
