The all-new Triumph Tiger 900 is set to be launched in India by the end of May, 2020. The bike packs a bigger BS6-compliant motor as well as better electronics and hardware for this year. And let’s not forget, it looks much better too. There are two new variants on offer: GT and Rally, each of which comes in a Standard and Pro version in the international market. We, on the other hand, may only get to see the standard version of the two trims, just like the previous-gen model.
Powering the ADV is a new Euro 5/BS6-compliant 888cc inline three-cylinder motor which makes 95PS (same as before) of power and 87Nm (up by 8Nm) of peak torque. The Tiger 900’s motor gets a new 1-3-2 firing order which gives the bike a throatier exhaust note.

As for its electronic suite, it’s been updated to harness the improved output figures. It gets cornering ABS, six rider modes (Rally Pro trim): Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road, Rider, and Off-Road Pro - in addition to Triumph’s Shift Assist (a bi-directional quick-shifter). The icing on the cake is Triumph’s connectivity module which comes as standard on the Pro trims.

In terms of hardware, the Tiger 900 gets a split trellis frame that's easier to replace in case of a crash. The base models and the GT variants are equipped with Marzocchi forks with compression and rebound damping, while the rear features a monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability. As for the GT Pro tims, they come equipped with an electronically adjustable monoshock at the rear (a first for the Tiger range). It gets 19-inch front/17-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with Metzeler Tourance tyres.
The top-spec Tiger 900 Rally Pro variant gets fully-adjustable Showa upside-down forks and Showa monoshock. Its laced wheels in the same configuration allow fitment of Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tubeless tyres. In terms of braking, all Tiger 900 models come with top-spec Brembo Stylema calipers.
Expect the Tiger 900 to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
