Triumph Tiger 900 India Launch Tomorrow

It will be available in three variants: GT, Rally and Rally Pro

Triumph is all set to launch the 2020 Tiger 900 in India tomorrow and follow it up with the introduction of the Street Triple R towards the end of the month. The manufacturer has already launched the 2020 Rocket III, Street Triple RS and the BS6-compliant Bonneville range in the country. As for the Tiger 900, it’s been thoroughly reworked for 2020 and gets a new design, better features and improved mechanicals. Triumph has already started accepting pre-bookings for the bike.

It’s powered by an 888ccc inline three-cylinder motor that makes 95PS of power and 87Nm (7Nm more than before) of peak torque. According to Triumph, the engine internals are all new with a 1-3-2 firing order that gives it a raspier exhaust note. 

Its electronic suite consists of cornering ABS and four rider modes which come as standard: Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road in addition to Triumph’s Shift Assist (a bi-directional quickshifter). The Rally Pro trim steps it up a notch with two additional modes: Rider and Off-Road Pro. But the Tiger 900's party piece is its full-colour TFT display which gets Triumph’s connectivity module as standard on the Pro trims.

We earlier revealed that only three out of the five variants will make it to India: GT, Rally and Rally Pro. In terms of hardware, the GT features fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension at the front and the back, Brembo Stylema brakes, and dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. The more hardcore Rally and Rally Pro variants, on the other hand, come with longer-travel Showa suspension, Bridgestone Battlax Adventure rubber, and Stylema brake calipers. We believe Triumph may price the Tiger 900 between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the 2020 Honda Africa Twin and the upcoming V-Strom 1050.
