A list of all the features explained of the most affordable Triumph
Triumph recently launched the most affordable bike in its lineup, the Speed T4, at Rs 2,17,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Let us have a look at all the features which the Speed T4 gets:
The Triumph Speed T4 is equipped with a semi-digital instrument console, with an analogue speedometer which has a gear position indicator, tachometer, fuel level, tripmeter and an odometer readouts. The semi-digital instrument cluster lacks smartphone connectivity and navigation, which is not up to the market standards as even bikes from lower segments offer better features than the Speed T4.
When it comes to components, the Speed T4 gets steel handlebars, brake pedal and gear shifter. It also gets a mechanical throttle body which means, no riding modes. In terms of brakes, the Speed T4 gets a 300mm front disc and 230mm rear with axial callipers. The T4 has bias-ply tyres from MRF with a 110/70 front section and 140/70 rear section.
Coming to the engine, the Speed T4 gets the same 398.15cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Speed 400 but makes less power and torque. The Speed T4 makes 31PS at 7,000rpm and 36Nm at 5,000rpm which is 9PS and 2Nm less than the Speed 400.
In sum, the Speed T4 isn’t a feature-packed bike. But again, that’s in line with its overall retro appeal. Our only complaint would be the analogue speedometer and digital tachometer. Analogue speedometers are just hard to read on the go and the digital tachometer’s fonts are so small that it’s almost impossible to read on the go.
