The T100 retains the retro styling of the T120 with mechanicals derived from the Street Twin

It is commendable that a bike manufacturer launches a product in India in the same month as its global debut at an international motorcycle show. Goes on to show the bike maker’s commitment towards the Indian market.

Brit motorcycle manufacturer Triumph did just that and has launched another addition to its Bonneville family here. The new Bonneville T100 was recently unveiled at the INTERMOT motorcycle show this month and it is here! The Triumph Bonneville T100 is the one of the smallest and most affordable bikes from the Bonneville family, after the Street Twin, with prices starting from Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The T100 echoes the retro styling of the T120, albeit in a more compact form. It comes with a shorter wheelbase, lower seat and relaxed dynamics that should make it accessible to the novice rider. If you are not a fan of the retro looks, Triumph also have an all-black version of the T100 called the T120 Black, which may soon follow the T100 here.

The Bonneville T120 shares its 900cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine and mechanicals with the Street Twin, though with a slightly more relaxed rake and trail and weight being a bit portly at 231kg dry. The 55PS motor is a torquey unit, making 80Nm of torque at just 3230rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The service interval for the powertrain has been increased from 10,000 kilometres to 16000 kilometres. The power delivery is quite linear and accessible, a boon for new riders. Also helpful are the electronic riding aids like ride-by-wire, torque-assist clutch and switchable traction control carried over from the Street Twin. The Kayaba 41mm front forks and preload-adjustable twin Kayaba rear dampers are carried over from the Street Twin as are the single 310mm floating disc upfront and 255mm disc at the back, both clamped by two-pot Nissin calipers and aided by ABS.

The Bonneville T100 will be available in three two-tone colours – Blue/Silver, Black/Silver and Orange/Silver. In addition to this, Triumph offers over 150 customization options for the T100 and that includes the performance Vance & Hines pea shooter exhausts.

Unparalleled British engineering of Parallel twins
I kept two Bonnies an A3 and now a T100. Boys these motorcycles introduced me to the unparalleled British engineering of Parallel twins. They are matchless , as far as ride quality, styling and engine performance is concerned. Perfect 10 on 10 for a regular weekend Hill jaunt lover.

      Caferacer T100
The best caferacer in market is Triumph Bonneville T100 with 900cc engine with 76.73 NM of torque, the best thing I like is Dual Disc Brakes with Dual Channel ABS that improves it's stability and cornering at high speeds.
