Hero reigns at the top of the chart with a huge margin

India is home to the largest two-wheeler market in the world and majority of these sales come from humble commuters like the Hero Splendor and Honda Activa, which manage to sell lakhs of units. The SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) has released the sales data for the month of June, and here are the top five best-selling bike makers:

Manufacturer

Units Sold (Combined)

Hero MotoCorp

4,63,210

Honda

3,55,565

TVS Motor Company

1,93,090

Bajaj

1,25,083

Suzuki

52,928

With a market share of 35.4 percent for two-wheelers, Hero MotoCorp retains the same percentage of market share when compared to May 2022. Next on the list is Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India with a market share of 27.16 percent. The Japanese giant witnessed a 0.68 percent increase in its two-wheeler sales from last month. One of the reasons for Hero constantly topping this chart is that their best-selling products are affordable, while most of the sales for Honda come from the tried-and-tested Activa range of scooters.

In third place is TVS with a market share of 14.75 percent. The Hosur-based manufacturer retained the same market share compared to last month. With a market share of 9.55 percent, Bajaj Auto is the fourth largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India this month and its sales increased by 1.71 percent compared to the last month. The second Japanese bike maker in the list, Suzuki, has a market share of 4.04 percent. Narrowly beating Yamaha by 829 units, the company grabbed the fifth spot in the list.
