The Honda CRF300L was recently spotted in India. Check out our exclusive story here. So here’s everything you need to know about the dual-purpose motorcycle: 

Motocross Styling

The CRF300L looks every-bit a dirt bike. The big beak up front, minimal motocross-style body panels, small LED headlamp, compact LCD dash and the high upswept exhaust are all the makings of a great trail basher.  

Underpinnings

If the looks don’t convince you about its off-road abilities, its specs will. Similar to the recently launched XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition, the Thailand-spec Honda CRF300L features a 21-inch wire-spoke wheel at the front with an 18-inch one at the rear. 

The suspension duties on it are handled by Showa on both ends. You have a premium 43mm inverted fork along with a monoshock, with a colossal 260mm travel on both ends. The ground clearance on offer is a whopping 244mm.

Road Capabilities

While the underpinnings might make the CRF300L sound like an off-road-spec bike, the Thailand-spec bike has a rather accessible 830mm seat height. That coupled with its narrow profile should make it easier for the rider to plant their feet on the ground. Adding to the practicality is the light 142kg kerb weight (on the UK-spec, which is a Euro5 model). For perspective, the stock XPulse 200 4V weighs 16kg more than the CRF300L. Here’s a little tidbit: the CRF300L weighs exactly the same as the smaller-engined Yamaha R15 V4. 

Engine

The CRF300L shares its heart with the Honda CB300R. In its Euro5/ BS VI form, the 286cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is tuned to produce 27.3PS and 26.6Nm, which is 3.8PS and 0.9Nm less than the baby CB. It is linked to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch. 

Features

The Thailand-spec CRF300L comes with an all-LED lighting. You get an LCD instrument cluster that shows the time, revs, average fuel consumption and a gear-position indicator. There is also the safety net of a dual-channel ABS.
