Take a closer look at Kawasaki’s most affordable retro bike for India through these detailed images

Kawasaki has just launched its entry-level motorcycle for India – the W175. Here’s everything the retro-style bike packs up close and detailed through images.

The Kawasaki W175 sports a retro design that comprises a traditional round halogen headlamp with round turn indicators all-around. Further adding to this theme is a teardrop-shape tank with large tank pads. Aesthetically, it does resemble its bigger sibling, the Kawasaki W800.

Powering the W175 is a 177cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 13PS and 13.3Nm. This motor comes paired to a five-speed gearbox. What differentiates the India-spec bike from the international model is that it gets a fuel-injection system rather than a carburettor. It also gets a traditional peashooter exhaust, which screams retro.

In terms of underpinnings, the Kawasaki W175 features a 30mm telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers with five-step pre-load adjustability. For braking, it gets a 270mm disc up front and a drum brake at the rear, paired with the safety net of single-channel ABS.

The W175 rides on 17-inch spoke wheels staying true to its retro heritage. The wheels are wrapped with Ceat Zoom Plus 80/100-section rubber.

Coming to the features, the W175 gets a simple analogue instrument cluster with a small digital insert which shows the fuel level, odometer and a clock.

This bike is available in two variants – Standard and Special Edition – which are priced at Rs 1,47,000 and Rs 1,49,000 respectively (ex-showroom India). The Standard variant comes in a Ebony shade, while the Special Edition comes in a Candy Persimmon Red shade with 3D badging and gold pinstripes on the tank.

The Kawasaki W175 rivals the Yamaha FZ-X. However in this price range, it goes up against the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, TVS Ronin and the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
