It is no secret that Royal Enfield has been working on a new motorcycle based on the Himalayan. The Scram 411 has been spotted testing yet again, and the spy shots reveal that the bike is close to production guise.
The spy shots give us a glimpse of its instrument cluster, which isn’t shared with the Himalayan. It appears to be the same unit from the Meteor 350 with Tripper navigation pod, likely to be offered in select variants of the Scram.
The Royal Enfield Scram does away with the windscreen and jerry can holders to incorporate a traditional fork-mounted headlight setup, flanked by indicators. One of the test mules sported a blacked-out headlight bezel while the other had a brushed metal finished.
Royal Enfield’s new bike is likely to share all its underpinnings with the Himalayan, except for the front wheel. The Scram has been spotted with smaller rims, likely to be 19-inch units, instead of the 21-inch rim seen on the Himalayan.
The Scram will use the same undersquare 411cc, single-cylinder engine, and most likely in the same state of tune. While the performance outputs could remain the same at 24.3PS and 32Nm, we may see an improvement in the refinement levels.
The Royal Enfield Scram is not just a tarmac-biased sibling to the Himalayan, but more importantly, an affordable alternative to the ADV. In this year so far, we have seen the Himalayan’s price shoot up by as much as Rs 19,000. With no substantial updates to the 2021 model of the Himalayan, the price hikes are a bit concerning. This is where the Scram comes in, and the bikemaker is likely to price it Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 cheaper than the Himalayan. While there’s no word on the launch timeline yet, we expect the Scram to hit the streets by late 2021 or early 2022.

Best scrambler in this segment. Best style best looks and comfortable riding posture. Royal Enfield has came up with a great scrambler motor cycle after so long time.
