Royal Enfield Himalayan Engine Specifications Revealed

The new adventure RE Himalayan motorcycle has already created a buzz amongst the two-wheeler aficionados. After a long row of rumours and speculations have been made about the launch and specifications, the most awaited RE is going to be launched during the 2016 Auto Expo which will be held in February, next year. Earlier it was expected that the bike will be launched this month at the 2015 Rider Mania.

As per the spy images, it is confirmed that the new adventure bike will be equipped with a 410cc oil cooled engine, which is expected to deliver 28bhp of maximum power and 32Nm of peak torque and the power will be delivered to the rear wheels through 5-speed gearbox. The engine will also get overhead camshaft instead of the push rod architecture and it is expected to freely revolve to 6,500-7,000 rpm. There is also a counterbalance that will help to reduce the engine vibrations, so we can expect that it will be most refined motor seen on the RE motorcycles till date.

Coming to the other details, the bike gets a regular instrument cluster which incorporates a tachometer, analogue speedometer, fuel indicator, clock, compass and altimeter. Braking action will be done by disc brake on the both ends. The manufacturer will offer ABS in 2017 model of RE adventure tourer. The bike runs on a Ceat tyres as stock while Pirelli tyres would be offered as optional.  

Expectedly, the Indian based manufacturer will also offer a lot of accessories like hard luggage, hand guards, crash protection bars and high windscreen. The bike is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 1.70 lac (Ex-showroom).
