Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 Launch Timeline Revealed

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 will be based on the Scram 440 platform, and is expected to be launched soon. But before that, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Royal Enfield adventure bike:

Engine

The upcoming ADV will be powered by the same engine as the Scram 440 – 443 cc air/oil-cooled single cylinder that makes 25 PS and 34 Nm, and mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Underpinnings 

The Himalayan 440 is expected to have  a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup along with long-travel suspension, making it ideal for off-road riding. It should  also get a tall windscreen to protect the rider from windblast during long rides. 

Price & Launch

The upcoming Himalayan 440 is expected to be launched in September 2025, and priced around Rs 2.5 Lakh (ex-showroom). IWhich is much more accessible than the Himalayan 450. 

Why Does The Himalayan 440 Matter?

The iconic Himalayan 411 was replaced by the Himalayan 450, which gets more convenience features – a TFT console with turn-by-turn navigation and map mirroring, along with improved suspension, making it a more capable and comfortable touring motorcycle.

That said, the Himalayan 411's long-stroke engine has its own fanbase. Its strong low-end torque made it incredibly easy to ride off-road – something many appreciate up to this date. With the addition of a 6-speed gearbox and a larger 443cc engine, the Himalayan 440 could bring back the charm of the original while making it more capable for touring.

The upcoming Himalayan 440 will appeal to people who prefer a torque-y bike, without too many features. And since it will be more affordable than the Himalayan 450, it might be suitable for those who want an ADV without spending a lot of money.

That said, the Himalayan 750 was recently spotted and could be launched next year.
