Oben Electric To Launch 4 New Electric Two-Wheelers In The Next 6 Months

On the occasion of World EV Day 2024, Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Oben Electric has announced its plans to launch 4 new electric two-wheelers in India within the next 6 months. The manufacturer further revealed that the prices for the upcoming two-wheelers from Oben will start from Rs 60,000 and go up to Rs 1,50,000.
Oben claims that the upcoming EVs will provide a similar performance as petrol-powered bikes of the same segment. The 4 upcoming electric two-wheelers will feature LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology which provides better heat resistance, more durability, and a longer lifespan, all of which will be very helpful for tackling India’s challenging climate conditions.
Along with the new launches, Oben Electric also has plans to expand its customer touchpoints across the country with 60 new showrooms across more than 12 major cities by the end of 2024.
Oben Electric’s current line-up in India includes only 1 bike, the Oben Rorr,. The Oben Rorr costs Rs 1,49,999 (ex-showroom Karnataka) including EMPS 2024 (Electric Mobility Promotional Scheme).
The Oben Rorr electric bike gets a frame-mounted IPSM motor linked to a chain drive that makes 8kW of peak power. It is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in 3 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 100kmph. The bike has 3 ride modes: Eco, City and Havoc.
The Rorr has an IP67-rated 4.4kWh aluminium die-cast battery pack that provides a claimed true range of 150km in Eco mode. It charges from 0 to 80 percent in 2 hours with an optional fast charger. It goes against the other electric bikes including the Tork Kratos R and Revolt RV400.
