Finally, Yamaha brought back its popular model YZF R15 S in India. It was confirmed by the Company management, during the Nepal launch, that the new chronicle will be offered in India with some variations.
The new version of R15 S has some changes in external appearance and the rear end of the bike will once again the feature the pillion seat found in the older version. According to information available with us the new Yamaha R15S is 5 kgs lighter than the R15 V 2.0. To give a better understanding we have prepared a short comparison of R15S with R15 V2 based on the new specs list.
R15S vs R15 V2.0 : Key points
• R15S carries a single connected seat against the split unit of the R15 V2.0.
• Practically reduced pillion seat than the V2.0’s highly impractical one.
• The seat for the rider has also been reduced by 10 mm to 790 mm.
• The overall length gets increased marginally (25 mm) to 1,995 mm.
• The wheelbase has been reduced to 1,290 mm from 1,345 mm as compared to V2.
• Kerb weight is 5 kg less than the V2.0.
New Specifications
New Yamaha R15S was launched at the price of Rs. 1,14, 741 (ex-showroom Delhi). Let's wait and see, whether the bike gets the same reponse or not.
