The new variant loses out on connected features

Suzuki India has launched the Standard Edition variant for its sporty scooter, Avenis. Priced at Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom Delhi) It is the base variant of the scooter and sits below the Ride Connect and Race Edition variants. Moreover, it is Rs 1,500 more affordable than the Ride Connect variant.

The only difference between the Standard Edition and the other variants of the Avenis is that the new variant does not get a Bluetooth-enabled digital cluster, instead it features a multi-function digital instrument cluster without any connectivity. The new cluster displays info such as the time, speed, engine temperature, two trip meters and a service indicator.

Mechanically the bike remains unchanged and is powered by the same 124cc air-cooled motor, dishing out 8.7PS and 10Nm. The same powertrain as the Suzuki Burgman Street.

Even in terms of appearance the scooter is unchanged and retains its sporty and youthful design. Just like the Ride Connect Edition, the standard variant is available in four paint schemes: Green, Red, White and Black. However, it does not get the Race Edition’s blue paint scheme with race graphics.

The Suzuki Avenis is a sporty scooter that rivals the likes of TVS NTorq 125 (Rs 75,645), Honda Grazia 125 (Rs 80,175) and Yamaha RayZR 125 (Rs 77,830) all prices ex-showroom Delhi. We have ridden the Suzuki Avenis, and here is what we think about it.
