There has never been a better time if you want to get into offroading, and you are in luck if you have been eyeing the Kawasaki KLX230. The brand has announced an extended warranty plan for the dual-sport motorcycle, which makes the KLX an even more appealing choice for riders in India.
A Decade Of Peace
The Kawasaki KLX 230 already comes with a standard 3-year warranty, but buyers can now opt for a 7-year extended warranty for just Rs 2,499, taking the total coverage to 10 years. Do note that the plan only covers the “engine parts and gearbox components”.
This move follows Kawasaki’s decision to heavily localise the KLX 230 to India earlier this year, which helped bring prices down significantly. Over and above this, there was another price cut recently, thanks to the GST reduction, so the motorcycle is now priced at Rs 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it one of the most affordable Japanese off-road bikes in the country.

In terms of performance, the KLX230 remains a great option for those who want to explore trails, learn the basics of off-roading or even just commute worry-free. It’s powered by a 233cc air-cooled engine with heaps of low-end torque, weighs just 139kg kerb, and gets long-travel suspension with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels. Along with its massive 255mm ground clearance and an 880mm seat height adds to its off-road capability.
While the warranty covers the crucial powertrain components, the rest of the aspects of the bike - especially the bodywork shouldn’t cost you too much to repair/ replace as the fibre body panels are designed to take a beating. So with the new warranty package, the KLX230 is a solid deal for budding off-roaders looking for a light, fun, and easy-to-ride motorcycle.
