The bike packs a few other touring-friendly accessories too

  • Jawa Forty Two is the brand’s most affordable motorcycle in India.
  • Test mule suggests the brand could offer a new variant.
  • Accessories in the spied bike may also be offered as an option with the standard model.
  • Expect Jawa to introduce the bike in a couple of months.

The Jawa Forty Two with alloy wheels was recently spied testing. Along with the new wheels, the motorcycle comes with a blacked-out theme, a windscreen, and a pillion grab rail. Interestingly, the grab rail, called The Hammerhead Spoiler, is already available in the brand’s parts list at Rs 999.

Thanks to the addition of alloy wheels, the bike is likely to roll on tubeless tyres. This should go a long way in handling punctures much better than tubed ones. The suspension, exhaust, indicators, and the headlight brackets are all finished in matte black, indicating the possibility of Jawa offering a new variant. The rest of the bits are all the same as the standard bike.

The motorcycle’s 293cc single-cylinder BS6-compliant liquid-cooled engine pushes out 26.51PS and 27.05Nm. It works in tandem with a 6-speed transmission. The test mule comes with discs on both ends, hinting the variant could be priced at a premium over the current dual-channel ABS version, which starts from Rs 1,72,229 (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect the upcoming bike to cost around Rs 6,000 more than the dual-channel ABS-equipped model.
