What else can you get for the price of the updated retro roadster?
Classic Legends has updated its existing models - the Jawa and Forty Two - to meet BS6 emission norms. The Jawa has become dearer by almost Rs 10,000, with the prices now starting from Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The dual-channel model is now priced at Rs 1.82 lakh. What else could you get for the price of the bike?
Royal Enfield Classic 350 Dual-channel ABS Chrome Edition - Rs 1.82 lakh
The direct rival to the Jawa, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been the king of the entry-level roadster segment. While this particular edition of the Classic 350 BS6 is priced on par with the Jawa, other editions of the Royal Enfield are more affordable. The Classic 350 BS6 also gets you a ticket into the Bulleteer brotherhood.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 - Rs 1.80 lakh
If the Jawa is a bit too old school for your taste but you still want a retro motorcycle, you should perhaps opt for the newly launched Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. The Svartpilen 250 is a neo-retro urban scrambler that oozes class from every angle. It shares its foundations with the KTM 250 Duke, being powered by the same 248cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 30PS and 24Nm. Its upright riding stance and slim dimensions should make it a hoot to ride on your daily commute.
KTM 200 Duke - Rs 1.72 lakh
Another bike that share its foundations with the 250 Duke is the updated KTM 200 Duke BS6. It gets the same split-trellis frame, styling and larger fuel tank as its quarter-litre sibling. Still at the heart of it is the manic 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that made us fall in love with the Austrian brand. We sampled the updated bike recently and needless to say, it tugs at our heartstrings even now.
Royal Enfield Himalayan - Rs 1.87 lakh
Despite the arrival of newer and more powerful opposition, none come quite as close to being the perfect affordable adventure touring weapon as the Royal Enfield Himalayan. It is compact yet capable. The 411cc engine may not be the most advanced or the smoothest but Enfield has managed to dial down the vibrations over time. In its latest BS6 guise, Royal Enfield has also introduced switchable ABS, a boon for adventure seekers.
Jawa 350 User Reviews
The bike was good but the service is not good as they say everything as manufacturing defect. But has a great torque. The best thing for the bike is the seating comfortablity which is top notch. Also the bike doesn't heat up as some other 350cc bikes. Coming to mileage, it is just 24-27Kmpl which is not I expected.Read More

I am very excited to have ridden Jawa 350. It is an absolute pleasure to ride. When I get on the bike it takes me back in time and takes me down memory lane. When I start the engine I enjoy a great sound and fast forward motion and the brakes are awesome. I feel very confident driving it. I can't describe this feeling in words. You have to ride it to feel it.Read More
