Honda Grazia BS6: What To Expect?

Like the Honda Activa 125 BS6, the Grazia is also likely to get a similar set of updates

Now that the Honda Activa 125 BS6 is already on sale, the scooter gives us a fair idea of what the BS6-compliant version of its sportier-looking sister, the Grazia, might pack. Also, it’s only a matter of time before Honda introduces the BS6-compliant version. Here’s our analysis:

Might get a new feature-packed engine:

The Honda Grazia BS6 might feature the same all-new motor that does duty in the BS6 Activa 125. This 124cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine generates 8.29PS at 6500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5000rpm. Expect Honda to plonk in the same engine into the Grazia BS6. This motor also features a silent start system which ensures the scooter cranks up instantly and silently. Honda could also add a stop-start system which coupled with the silent start will make riding on traffic-riddled roads easier and more fuel-efficient.

Could come with a tweaked design and an external fuel filler:

The Honda Grazia is already a good-looking scooter, so expect Honda to refresh the design subtly, at least at the front. However, at the rear, Honda is likely to make slightly more substantial changes to accommodate an external fuel filler. This should make refuelling a lot easier than having to disembark and open the seat every time. Expect the 18-litre underseat storage to remain the same. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if the external fuel filler frees up space for a bigger underseat storage compartment.

Might get a more info-laden digital instrument cluster:

Being a sportier model, Honda could offer a more information-packed fully digital instrument cluster in the Grazia BS6. It could display crucial information like real-time and average fuel efficiency, range, apart from the regular trove of information. These practical features should also improve the scooter’s premium quotient considerably. That said, these features are expected to be offered as a standard feature only in the top-end model. The base variant could continue with the same unit as the one at present.

Might retain the underpinnings:

The Honda Grazia BS4 itself is pretty well-equipped when it comes to underpinnings. Expect Honda to keep them as is. This includes a telescopic front fork and a single rear shock absorber. The Honda Grazia BS6 is also likely to retain the same 12-inch front and a 10-inch rear wheel with the option of steel or alloy units from the BS4 model. It could also retain the front 190mm disc/ 130mm drum and the rear 130mm drum, with CBS as before. That said, due to the new engine and the possibility of a reworked bodywork, the kerb weight might witness a slight increase from the current 107kg.

Will command a premium over the BS4 version:

Both the Honda Activa 125 BS6 and BS4 models are available in three variants: Drum brake, Drum brake with alloys, and Disc with alloys. The price difference between each corresponding variants are Rs 5840, Rs 7,404 and Rs 8,455 respectively. The current-gen Honda Grazia too is available in these three variants and expect the BS6-compliant iteration to also command a similar delta. That’d make the Grazia BS6 around 5,800 to Rs 8,500 dearer, depending on the variant.
