If our speculation is true, it will be the first adventure scooter in India

Honda has teased its upcoming two-wheeler once again. But this time around, the bikemaker teased the seat of the two-wheeler, which distinctly belongs to a scooter. While it isn’t the CB300X like we had initially thought, it still belongs to the same adventure genre, and here’s why we think so.

We did some digging and found the seat profile and shape to be very similar to the Honda ADV 160. Moreover, the exhaust note shown in the teaser is also identical to the ADV 160, reinforcing the possibility of the arrival of the 160cc adventure scooter.

The Honda ADV 160 is available in Indonesian markets and is a pretty rugged, adventure-esque take on a typical maxi-scooter. It even flaunts an aggressive design, with muscular and bulky panels befitting its purpose.

However,  the previous teaser of the upcoming two-wheeler displayed a fascia-mounted single-piece headlight unit, which is drastically different from the Indonesian-spec ADV 160. So we could expect the India-spec scooter to feature different aesthetics.

Powering the Indonesian-spec ADV 160 is a 156.9cc liquid-cooled engine belting out 16.2PS & 14.7Nm. Apart from that, the ADV 160 is blessed with traction control, dual channel ABS and Idling Stop System (ISS) for better fuel efficiency. The India-spec scooter could get more or less the same specifications.

Underpinnings include a telescopic fork, dual gas-charged shock absorber suspension setup, and discs on both ends. It runs on 14/13 inch alloys with dual sport rubbers.

With an expected price tag of Rs 1.5 lakh, ex-showroom, the Honda ADV 160 is expected to go on sale in India later this month or early next month. Once launched, it will be India’s first adventure scooter and will rival the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160.
