Honda Activa 110: Features Explained

India’s (and Honda's) best-selling family scooter may look sober, but is loaded with quite a few useful features, spread across three variants, so that buyers can go for the one that’s the most appropriate to their needs. 

The Honda Activa 110 starts at Rs 76,083 for the standard variant, whereas the DLX costs Rs 86,611. The range-topping Smart variant is priced at Rs 91,082 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Here’s everything you will get:

Convenience Features

Keyless functionality is the main reason to choose the H-Smart variant. The Smart Key system has four features: Smart Find flashes the indicators so you can locate the scooter in a crowded lot; Smart Unlock handles the handlebar and seat lock; Smart Start lets the engine run with the key still in your pocket; Smart Safe acts as an anti-theft immobiliser. This key fob ensures that daily users avoid fumbling for keys. 

Paired with this is it comes with the Honda RoadSync app, which connects a smartphone to the scooter's 4.2-inch TFT screen via Bluetooth. Note that this is available only in the DLX and H-Smart variants. This console also has a tachometer (not very useful in a scooter, if you ask us), mileage and range indicator, along with a clock and an Eco indicator (not a riding mode as such, but it lights up if you ride it with a relaxed throttle).

On the other hand, the standard model gets a simpler analogue console with an analogue speedometer, analogue fuel gauge, tell-tale lights and odometer readings. Also, note that all variants get the same 18-litre underseat storage. It’s decent enough for daily commutes, but its key rival, the TVS Jupiter offers a bigger boot. 

Safety Features

The only major safety feature here is the combined braking system - standard across all variants as required legally. It sends a portion of the braking force to the front when the rear brake is applied to ensure a more stable braking performance. 

All variants come with tubeless tyres, reducing the risk of sudden deflation from a puncture. The side stand engine cut-off, which prevents the scooter from starting with the stand down, is listed as an accessory rather than standard feature.

If you’re budget-conscious, then the base variant will do the job just right as it doesn’t compromise on where it counts: a refined engine and a reasonably-sized underseat storage. If you’re looking for a bit more tech, then we’d suggest you skip the DLX and directly go for the top-end Smart variant as it gets all the useful features including turn-by-turn navigation.
