Hero MotoCorp, world's No.1 two-wheeler manufacturer is quite serious about its global expansion plans, and within days of announcing its plans to expand to as many as 50 countries by 2020, the company yesterday commenced its operations in Peru - one of the largest two-wheeler markets in the Latin America. MOTOCORP S.A.C, a part of the reputed EFE Group of Peru is its local partner. Hero has started the operations with a well-established large distribution network of as many as 85 outlets spread across the country. The manufacturer announced that more new outlets will be added subsequently in a phased manner.

Pawan Munjal, MD & CEO, who launched brand 'Hero' in Lima in the presence of Jamie Prieto, President of MOTOCORP S.A.C, said "Our new international markets will play a crucial role in the future as we move forward with the objective of surpassing 100 million units in cumulative sales by 2020. Peru, therefore, plays a significant role in our plans to expand our global footprint. Our vision is to provide convenient, fuel-efficient mobility to every customer in this market, and with our wide range of products, we are committed to serving two-wheeler customers across Peru,"

Hero has launched seven models of its current line-up including Pleasure, Passion Pro, Glamour, Hunk, Thriller, Karizma ZMR and Karizma R. Hero is not the only Indian manufacturer in the 250,000-300,000 units strong two-wheeler market of Peru, other Indian companies like Bajaj and TVS are already selling their vehicles. Along with these Indian manufacturers there are also some Japanese players including Honda and Yamaha and few Chinese manufacturers.

With the sales operations Hero has also kick started a massive brand-building initiative to establish its brand name in the country asap. It has launched the Spanish version of its iconic anthem "Hum Main Hai Hero" (There's a Hero in each one of us) for the local market which will be supported by strong communication on TV and print.

Recently Pawan Munjal had announced that the company is willing to have operations in 50 countries with manufacturing plants and assemblies in 20 locations across the globe. Colombia is the only country in Latin America where Hero has had a presence since the time of the erstwhile Hero Honda. The company is also looking at establishing a full-fledged manufacturing unit in Colombia by the middle of 2014. Hero has already launched its operations in Central America with large distribution networks in countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. The company also made its Africa debut last month with operations in Kenya, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast.

Great beginner bike

Smoothest suspensions and broad seat feel like sofa on wheels.great fuel economy for an 223cc and very low maintenance required can use for both city and highways but it's potential shines in highways great beginner bike and it's family friendly which makes it great option for people. 5 speed for an 223cc was an negative for this bike which result in low top speed compared to its competitors features it has was it's main draw back. But it's comfort and highways stability equals it's negatives. Rider fatigue is very low the rider feels like daisy even after 500 km trip This bike is recommended for tourers and highway cruisers great engine and chassis.its comfort which hooked me to this bike.for an long trip traveller like me, this bike is perfect even though new bikes gives way more features its raw torque makes it perfect for hills also.Read More
