Faster Charging Now Available For Ather 450X Base Variant
Ather 450X without the Pro Pack has a massive 15 hour charging time with the free home charger, but now the company has a solution for Rs 7500
In a bid to make its electric scooter more affordable, Ather launched the 450X without the Pro Pack, replacing the Ather 450 Plus. While it offered the same performance as the variant with the Pro Pack, the biggest caveat was that it came with a lengthy 15-hour 0-100 percent charging time using a 5A home socket.
Ather acknowledged this shortfall earlier, and the EV maker has now introduced a faster home charger, essentially the Ather Dot, for Rs 7,500. Do note the offer is valid until stocks last. With the wall-mountable Dot charger, the 0-80 percent charging time goes down to 4 hours 30 minutes.
We reckon if the portable charger (included with the scooter without any extra cost) is left plugged in at your housing society, it can be misused by other Ather owners. In such unauthorised use, the charging plug stays locked in until the owner disengages the lock via the key. All this can be eliminated with the Dot charger as it is only compatible with your electric scooter.

The Ather 450X without the Pro pack costs Rs 1,16,379, whereas the 450X with Pro Pack retails at Rs 1,46,473 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME 2 subsidy). These prices will go up from June 1, 2023 as the FAME 2 subsidy will be revised. You can check out all the details in our report.
