Recently, we reported that the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer has launched a special website- revstation, which has a teaser video hinting towards the unveiling of the production versions of R25 and Tricity on 25th March. Now an Indonesian blog portal- MotorBlast has rendered the bike using sketch shown in the teaser. While, the concept R25 was based on the MotoGP track machine- Yamaha YZR-M1, the production model in the rendered image looks like YZF-R1.

When we look at the outline of the Yamaha R25 production model, it appears like a closer sibling of the YZF-R1 than the YZF-R15. The front facia of the bike is not visible in the rendered image, however, the headlamp, visor and fuel tank are looking quite similar to the R1 in the side profile. Fairing of the bike is smaller, but looks based on the lines of R1.

Yamaha R25 will sport the similar split-spoke alloy wheels, shown with the concept model and it will get some parts similar to its younger sibling YZF-R15 including exhaust muffler and swing-arm. Concept model of the bike was powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve per head, parallel twin, expected to churn out a maximum power of around 30bhp. However, the company might bring the production version with some modification in the power-train and may use a slightly higher capacity engine to make it Yamaha R3.

As the Yamaha R25 will be powered by a parallel twin, it will be priced slightly higher than the other quarter litre bikes with a single-cylinder mill. The bike will compete with Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM Duke 390, Hyosung GT250R and other competitors between the range of Rs. 1.8-3.5 lakh.
