After months of anticipation and spy shots of a prototype in Europe, the production ready version of the Aprilia Tuono 457 has finally been spotted in India. Aprilia India had already officially revealed earlier that the Tuono 457 will be launched on February 17, 2025, with a media ride scheduled for the following day.
Design
The Tuono 457 is the naked, streetfighter version of the Aprilia RS 457. Unlike the RS 457’s fairing, the Tuono comes with a minimalist naked look, along with an upright and relaxed riding position, a single-piece handlebar instead of the clip-ons. The bike will be available in a total of two colour options: White/Silver and Red/Black.
Engine
It is powered by the same 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine as found in the RS 457. It produces 47.55PS and 43.5Nm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Although, we could expect to see changes to the sprocket sizes and engine tune here, more suited to the bikes’ street and city usage orientation.
Underpinnings
The motorcycle gets an inverted fork and a monoshock, both offering pre-load adjustability. Braking is handled by a 320mm front and a 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. The Aprilia Tuono will be built on the same chassis as the RS.
Features
The bike gets features like a 5-inch TFT colour display with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. It also includes a total of three riding modes: Eco, Sport, and Rain, along with switchable traction control and ABS.
Price & Rivals
It is expected to be priced at around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom), and upon launch, will compete against rivals like the KTM 390 Duke and the Yamaha MT-03 in India.
