208PS at a kerb weight of 196.5kg means it obliterates some supercars with its power-to-weight ratio

After dropping a couple of teasers on social media, Ducati India has finally launched the Streetfighter V4 SP at a price of Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is basically an even more committed version of the standard Streetfighter V4 and makes use of weight-saving materials.

The Streetfighter V4 SP retains the same design as the Streetfighter V4 S. However, it exclusively receives a Winter Test livery (also seen on the Panigale V4 SP2), along with carbon-fibre wings and front fender. The adjustable footpegs receive aluminium treatment, and there are carbon heel guards as well. While the international model gets carbon-fibre wheels, the India-spec SP comes with Marchesini forged magnesium rims. . These have resulted in the Streetfighter V4 SP weighing 196.5kg, which is 2.5kg lesser than the Streetfighter V4 S.

The Streetfighter V4 SP continues to be powered by the same Desmosedici Stradale 1103cc 90-degree V4 powertrain putting out 208PS and 123Nm, paired witha six-speed transmission with a quickshifter. However, a new STM-EVO SBK dry clutch is now available as standard.

The V4 SP gets Stylema R monobloc calipers over the Stylema calipers that the V4 S gets. These are clamped onto twin 330mm discs at the front, and a 245mm disc at the rear. It also receives fully-adjustable, semi-active electronic suspension on both ends — 43mm inverted fork and a Ohlins TTX36 monoshock.

In terms of equipment, the Streetfighter V4  SP receives electronic aids such as a six-axis IMU, traction control, slide control, power launch, wheelie control, quickshifter, engine braking control and more, along with a colour TFT instrument cluster.

Priced at Rs 34,99,000 (ex-showroom), the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP is just Rs 1.08 lakh less expensive than the Ducati Panigale V4 SP, when it was launched in India last year. With that, the only bike that comes close to the hypernaked is the Kawasaki Z H2 SE.
