The top-of-the-line adventure tourer could be priced at Rs 19.5 lakh

[Update: Ducati India has launched the Multistrada 1260 Enduro. Head here for the price and other details.]

  • Powered by a new 1262cc L-twin engine which produces 158PS and 128Nm.
  • The ergonomics have been altered to make it a more capable off-roader.
  • Will rival the Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx and the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure.

Ducati is all set to launch its top-end adventure motorcycle, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro, in India on 9 July. The flagship ADV is likely to command a premium of around Rs 1 lakh to 1.50 lakh over the Multistrada 1200 Enduro, which is priced at Rs 18.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price, it will go up against other ADVs like the Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx (Rs 17 lakh) and the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure (Rs 18.25 lakh).

The overall silhouette of the 1260 Enduro is similar to the older model. However, it gets a new cream-ish paint scheme which replaces the grey colour option seen on the Multistrada 1200 Enduro. Ducati has also tweaked the ergonomics of the 1260 Enduro, which should enhance the riding experience. The seat height has been lowered by 10mm and so is the handlebar and footpegs.

But the biggest update that the motorcycle has received is in the form of a new engine. The older 1198cc motor has been replaced with a new 1262cc L-twin engine. Even though the power figures are similar to the older model (158PS of power and 128Nm of torque), the torque is now accessible from as low as 3500rpm.

When it comes to rider aids, Ducati’s got you covered. The Multistrada 1260 Enduro features a 6-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit, cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control, riding modes (Urban, Sport, Touring and Enduro) and Ducati's bi-directional quickshifter. The 5-inch TFT display has been updated too.
