Yamaha Aerox-E: Features Explained

The Yamaha Aerox-E was recently launched in India at Rs 2,81,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It offers a solid set of convenience and safety features. Here's all you need to know about them.

Convenience features

The Aerox-E is equipped with an all-new TFT console, which houses the speedometer, trip meter, and battery charge readout. It also gets Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, along with call and SMS alerts. The screen is easily visible in direct sunlight; however, it is a bit cluttered, and the layout could have been further optimised to make it more readable. The scooter gets 3 riding modes: Eco, Standard, and Power, along with a dedicated Boost button, which provides extra performance for 10 seconds. This is helpful when you want to make a quick overtake.

Other features include all-LED lighting along with a reverse mode for easy manoeuvring in and out of tight spaces. The scooter also gets a keyless start via a smart key. There is also Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, in which you can get ride statistics such as geo-location, daily riding log, maintenance schedules, malfunction warnings, and much more.

Safety features

The Aerox-E has you covered with the basics. It gets single-channel ABS along with traction control to help you out on loose tarmac. However, at this price point, we wish the scooter had dual-channel ABS and a hazard light switch.
