Honda CB500 Unofficial Bookings Begin In India
A few dealers have started booking but the official price or launch date remain unannounced
Honda BigWing dealers have started accepting unofficial bookings for the CB500 which was recently unveiled. However, the brand is yet to officially open bookings for the bike.
According to our dealer sources, some Honda BigWing dealerships have started accepting unofficial bookings for the CB500, seeing the huge public interest and demand for the bike. The booking amount varies from dealer to dealer, with dealers charging between Rs 5,000 and up to Rs 25,000 for the bike. However, these are dealership-level bookings, and Honda has not officially started bookings for the bike yet.
Expected Launch Timeline
Our dealer sources have also said that the Honda CB500 is expected to arrive at dealerships around Diwali or the New Year. However, Honda is yet to officially confirm the launch date or reveal the price of the bike.
As per our sources, the other upcoming Honda bikes, including the ADV160, Rebel 300, Rebel 500, XR 300L, and the XR300 Rally, are also expected to arrive at dealerships around the same time.
Honda CB500: What Is It?
The Honda CB500 is a single-cylinder roadster positioned above the CB350 range and set to rival the Harley-Davidson X440. It is powered by a 501cc single-cylinder engine that makes 28.1 PS and 43.5 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The bike gets a semi-analogue instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer and a digital fuel gauge. It also gets Honda RoadSync for turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts.
The CB500 gets a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, with disc brakes on both wheels.
