Quick Highlights

  • Ampere has filed a design patent for the Xyber electric bike in India.

  • The design patent reveals a sporty and futuristic-looking electric bike.

  • It is expected to offer a claimed range of up to 200 km.

Ampere Electric could soon enter the premium electric motorcycle segment in India with the Xyber electric bike. It was first showcased as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025. The brand has now filed a design patent for the bike, and it looks quite sporty and futuristic. Here’s all you need to know.

What Does The Patent Reveal?

From the design patent, we can see a futuristic design with a sporty-looking LED headlight, muscular body panels, and split seats. The bike gets the ‘Arctic Term’ wing-inspired daytime running lights (DRLs), as showcased on the Xyber concept. The design patent also reveals a wide handlebar and a small flyscreen at the front, giving it a more aggressive streetfighter look.

While there is no official confirmation regarding the specifications, Ampere had previously revealed that the Xyber could get a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery pack offering a claimed range of up to 200 km. The bike is expected to use a mid-mounted electric motor producing around 10 kW of peak power and have a claimed top speed of 100 kmph.

The bike gets an inverted fork and a monoshock, rides on 17-inch wheels, and has disc brakes on both wheels, along with chunky road-biased tyres.

The Xyber concept showcased last year featured a TFT display with smartphone connectivity and Google Maps navigation, and we could also expect the same console to come on the production version of the bike.

BikeDekho Says

From the design patent, the Ampere Xyber looks like a promising electric motorcycle, with its futuristic styling, premium underpinnings, and decent claimed range. If Ampere gets the pricing right, it could be a great alternative to bikes like the Oben Rorr Evo, Revolt RVX, and Avore EX2.
