Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has filed a design patent for the Rasad electric maxi scooter in India. This comes after the brand patented the Sulad electric motorcycle concept and the Viper electric scooter. Here's all you need to know.

    What We Know So Far

    Vinfast Electric scooter

The VinFast Rasad electric maxi scooter was showcased in Vietnam in early 2026 alongside multiple other electric scooters and motorcycles.

In terms of design, it gets a futuristic look with a tall windscreen, LED headlamp with LED DRLs, and angular body panels. It also features a long single-piece seat, chunky tyres and a central tunnel (near the floorboard), just like other maxi scooters. Overall, the scooter does look quite sporty and premium.

In terms of performance, VinFast has not officially revealed the specifications. However, Vietnamese sources claim that the Rasad will be powered by a centrally mounted electric motor producing 7.1 kW of peak power, with a claimed top speed of 100 kmph.

Feature-wise, we expect the scooter to get a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. It could also get features such as reverse mode, traction control, and hopefully dual-channel ABS for added safety and convenience.

Looking at the design patent, the scooter appears to have a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It also features 14-inch wheels and disc brakes at both ends.

    BikeDekho Says

The VinFast Rasad looks like an interesting electric maxi scooter with sporty styling and decent claimed performance. If launched in India, it could be a good alternative to the recently launched Keeway Hypevolt R, and Yamaha Aerox E

The Rasad electric scooter is the third VinFast product to be patented in India in the past few months, indicating VinFast's interest in expanding its presence in the Indian market. With the Rasad, the brand could position itself better in the growing premium scooter segment in India.
