Yamaha has finally showcased the Yamaha Tenere 700 adventure motorcycle in India at Auto Expo 2025. It has been showcased in the World Raid Edition.
Design
Although the Yamaha Tenere 700 is a purpose built adventure motorcycle, it still manages to please us with its sharp design, tall stance and rugged looks. Overall the design of the Tenere 700 resembles a proper Dakar rally motorcycle. The neatly integrated fuel tank, big spoke wheels, rally-inspired seat and long-travel suspension contributes to the overall commanding stance.
Engine
The Yamaha Tenere gets a liquid-cooled 689cc parallel-twin motor which produces 71PS and 66Nm. This engine has been known for its brilliant power delivery and reliability.
Suspension and Chassis
The Yamaha Tenere 700 weighs 203kg (kerb) and gets a light weight double cradle frame. It has a fully adjustable 43mm inverted KYB fork with 210mm of wheel travel and a monoshock from KYB with 200mm of wheel travel. The suspension setup gets full adjustability for compression and rebound. The Tenere also has an impressive 240mm of ground clearance. The ADV has a 21-inch front spoke wheel and an 18-inch rear spoke wheel setup which makes it more capable off-road.
Features
The Yamaha Tenere 700 has a 6.3 inch TFT console which supports smartphone connectivity and turn by turn navigation. Tenere 700 also has a ride by wire throttle setup along with two riding modes: Sport and Explorer.
Braking setup
The Yamaha Tenere 700 uses a twin 282mm petal disk brake setup upfront and a 245mm disk brake setup at the rear. It also has switchable ABS along with 3 ABS modes, which basically alter the intensity of the ABS unit.
Rivals
It competes with the Triumph Tiger 660, Triumph Tiger 850 sport, Honda XL750 Transalp and the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE.
