The BMW CE 02 is part of the German manufacturer’s urban mobility lineup. It features an unconventional design when compared to other electric scooters. It looks quite modern and the beautiful graphics make it stand out. It is offered in 2 colour schemes, Cosmic Black and Cosmic Black 2.
It is powered by an air-cooled synchronous motor with a peak power output of 11kW ( 15PS). The motor offers a claimed top speed of 95kmph and a 0-50kmph acceleration time of 3 seconds. Coming to the battery and range, the CE 02 is offered in a 3.92kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 108km.
Underpinnings wise, the CE 02 is built on a double-loop steel frame. It is suspended on an inverted fork and an offset monoshock. The scooter features a 239mm front and 220mm rear disc braking setup, with single-channel ABS as standard. It has an accessible seat height of 749mm.
The console on the CE 02 is a 3.5-inch TFT display, which offers essential readouts like speed, battery level, time, trip and odometer readout. The scooter gets 2 riding modes: Flow and Surf, along with an additional reverse mode. Other features on offer include, keyless ignition and also security features such as an anti-theft alarm.
The BMW CE 02 is a premium electric scooter and is manufactured by TVS in their manufacturing plant in Hosur, from where it is exported to foreign markets. As the CE 02 is manufactured in India, it has become easy for BMW to keep the pricing competitive here.
For perspective, the BWM CE 02 is sold in the US at a starting price of USD 7,599 which comes to around Rs 6.3 lakh. Currently, the BMW CE 02 does not have any natural rivals and the closest alternative you can go for is the TVS X electric scooter.
