Up till now, the most affordable motorcycle in the Pulsar range was the 150 Neon. Now with the launch of the Pulsar 125 Neon, Bajaj has lowered the entry point to the Pulsar family. Before you put your money down on this motorcycle, here’s everything you need to know:
Pricing & rivals:
The Pulsar 125 Neon costs Rs 64,000 for the front drum brake-equipped variant whereas the disc brake model will set you back by Rs 66,618. This motorcycle is essentially a sporty commuter with the Pulsar pedigree wrapped in an affordable package. Price-wise, it competes with the Honda CB Shine SP (starts from Rs 65,020) and the Hero Glamour FI (Rs 69,950, all ex-showroom Delhi).
Comes with a new 125cc engine:
The Pulsar 125 Neon is powered by a 124.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 12PS of power at 8500rpm and 11Nm at 6500rpm. This makes the Pulsar 125 the most powerful air-cooled bike in its class. The powerplant works in conjunction with a 5-speed transmission.
The engine could be based on the Pulsar 150 as it looks the same externally. For optimum refinement, Bajaj has equipped the engine with a counterbalancer. A kick start lever is standard and one can crank up the motorcycle in any gear by pulling in the clutch lever before starting.
Gets the same chassis as the Pulsar 150 Neon:
The Pulsar 125 Neon comes with the same chassis as its 150cc cousin. The double-cradle frame suspends on a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. Even the brakes (240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum) have been carried over. Just like the Platina 110 H-Gear, this motorcycle also features mechanical CBS. The 17-inch alloys roll on 80-section front and 100-section rear tubeless Eurogrip tyres, the same sizes as the Pulsar 150 Neon. Here are the dimension details of the bike:

The dimensions of this motorcycle, including the wheelbase and ground clearance, are the same as the 150 Neon. However, the fuel tank capacity, at 11.5 litres, is 3.5 litres smaller. Consequently, kerb weight is 4kg lesser than the 150cc counterpart, at 140kg.

The Pulsar 125 Neon carries forward the same design language as its 150cc cousin. It features funky colour highlights on the headlight cowl, grab rail, fuel tank and tail panel logos. Even the alloy wheels come with colour-coded stickers for extra style quotient. The raised clip-on handlebars coupled with the single-piece seat should offer sporty yet comfortable ergonomics. Feature-wise, Bajaj has equipped the motorcycle with a semi-digital instrument console, bulb-type indicators, halogen headlamp and LED tail lamp.
