Take a look at Bajaj’s latest offering - a more affordable Dominar - in detailed pictures

[UPDATE: Bajaj Dominar 250 Launched; Rs 30,000 Cheaper Than Bajaj Dominar 400!]

Bajaj is all set to launch the Dominar 250 real soon.  The bike has started reaching dealerships before its official launch and select dealerships have commenced unofficial bookings for it, too. We got our hands on some detailed images of this upcoming performance cruiser and here’s a look at the new bike in detail:

The Bajaj Dominar 250 looks pretty much like its elder sibling, the Dominar 400. It’s evident that Bajaj wanted to keep the premium quotient intact, so did not tinker with the bike’s looks.

Like the Dominar 400, the Dominar 250 features an all-LED lighting system.

The bike rides on slightly slimmer 100/80 MRF Nylogrip Zapper FY2 front tyre. They are not radials like the one in the Dominar 400.

The bike gets the same LCD instrument cluster as the previous generation Dominar 400. It does not have realtime and average mileage indicators like the new-gen Dominar 400.

The second pod on the fuel tank shows only the tell-tale lights and an illuminated logo like in the older-gen Dominar 400.

The rear rides on MRF Nylogrip Zapper measuring 130/70 as opposed to the Dominar 400’s 150-section radial rubber.

Bajaj has not compromised on the braking and suspension hardware. It features the same inverted front fork and rear gas-charged monoshock setup as the Dominar 400. Even the front disc gets a proper radial caliper and the rear comes with a disc brake too. Dual-channel ABS is standard on this model as well.

Another major change is the swingarm. It’s a box-section unit as opposed to a cast swingarm in the Dominar 400. This also contributes to keeping the price competitive.

We expected the bike to get a more traditional single-exhaust unit as the older Dominar but Bajaj has surprised us by equipping the bike with the same dual-exit one as the new Dominar 400.

The bike will be powered by a BS6-compliant, 248.8cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine derived from the KTM 250 Duke BS6. In the KTM, it makes 30PS and 24Nm but expect Bajaj to tune the engine for a more relaxed demeanour, with emphasis on its touring capabilities, in the Dominar 250.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 is likely to be priced around the Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. If our educated guess is correct, then its price will be in the same ballpark as the Dominar 400 ABS when it was first launched back in 2017 (at Rs 1.5 lakh ex-showroom Delhi).

Bajaj seems to have offered the red colour variant only in the Dominar 250. Interestingly, the same colour was shown under the guise of the new-gen Dominar 400 in one of the brand’s promotional videos.
