Check out the most affordable 125cc commuters

Bajaj has launched the CT 125X at Rs 71,345 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it the most affordable 125cc bike in India. But how does it fare against its primary rival, the Honda Shine? We find out via detailed pictures.

The Bajaj CT 125X adopts a rather retro-style, rugged appeal with minimal body panels. It gets a braced circular headlight, underbody bash plate and muscular fuel tank with padded knee recesses.

The Honda Shine, on the other hand, gets a simpler commuter-style design with a shapely fuel tank. Unlike the CT 125X, the Shine gets front to back body panels, giving it a unibody feel.

The CT 125X is powered by a 124.4cc, air-cooled mill, producing 10.9PS and 11Nm. The Shine is powered by Honda’s 123.94cc engine, making 10.74PS and 11Nm. Both are paired to five-speed gearboxes.

Both the bikes run on a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup. The CT 125X, however, gets fork gaiters for a rather rugged appeal.

Even the braking is handled by a similar hardware setup – drum at both ends on the lower variant and a disc up front on the higher one.

The CT 125X features an analogue instrument cluster, a USB charging port and an LED DRL on the cowl. The Shine too gets an analogue instrument cluster, but it also comes packed with technology like an engine kill switch and side stand engine cut off.

While the CT 125X is the most affordable 125cc bike, the Honda Shine retails at Rs 81,378 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the disc variant.
