Bajaj Auto has enhanced its stakes in KTM power sports AG of Austria. India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer has bought a 6.3% stake in KTM taking their total share over 47 %. Bajaj Auto's Netherlands-based subsidiary, Bajaj Auto International Holdings made the purchase for Bajaj Auto. It was an open market transaction where the company bought their share from the key stake holders. Both the companies can use the union for more leverage on technical strengths and global network. It was the year 2007 that started Bajaj Auto's interest in KTM and invested Rs. 300 crore thereby buying a 14.5% share. Since then they have continued to buy KTM's share and now with their recent buying, their stake has risen just above 47%.
But they have denied the possibility of getting a majority stake in KTM business in the future as that would affect their exclusiveness. Also the understanding between Bajaj Auto and KTM is such that Bajaj Auto cannot buy more than 49% stake. Stefan Pierer and Rudolf Knuenz are the current majority holders with 51% stake. The current stake purchase is in alignment with their long term plans of making KTM as world's number 1 premium motorcycle manufacturer. The year 2011 saw KTM sales go upto 81,200 which was a 22.4% increase from the previous year with 66,237 vehicles sold in 2010.
KTM has now surpassed BMW's sales becoming Europe's largest selling brand with KTM selling 8300 to BMW's 8250 units sales this month. KTM Duke is the major game changer when it came to sales with the KTM Duke 125 and 200 being a major hit all over the Europe. With a target of 200,000 motorcycles to be sold globally by 2015, KTM aims another 25,000-30,000 sales in India this year. Bajaj has always been itching to creep into the Austrian auto major and buy as much stake as they possibly can and with this, they are now the second largest stake holder in the company.
Bajaj Pulsar NS200 User Reviews
No vibration, perfect riding position, best performance, all rounder bike. And because I trust the bajaj and in this segment this is the best bike i bought. And the good one is gearing position, I like the design of my bike. Mileage i got on highway around 40 kml in cities 34 around, but best handling in every way. I ride the bike around 1900 km and I got the good mileage i observed there is no mileage drop in this segment. I ride around 50 km per day. Don't buy if you are not a men. Because pulsar is only for men. I would suggest this bike for every men, it is also best for college students and office mates. It attracts the whole attention of everyone. Read More

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is one of India’s most popular 200 cc streetfighter motorcycles, known for its powerful engine and sporty character. It’s powered by a 199.5 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve DTS-i engine that makes around 24.1–24.5 PS of power and ~18.7 Nm of torque, paired with a smooth 6-speed gearbox that delivers strong acceleration and a top speed near 140 km/h, making it fun for both city rides and highway cruising.Read More
The first gen 200ns was the bike I fell in love with back then, so I always wanted one and hence got the current version of the bike. Apart from that the character of the engine and mainly the muscular timeless design and the sound...! The ride until now has been pretty pretty good, Yes there are some nacks here n there in terms of the build quality, fit n finish and some minor vibration aroun fron visor and rear seat, But the bike feels soo much emgaging to ride, everytime I'm on the bike it wants me to rev the engine all the way, and I find myself smiling inside my helmet. the major chunk of power comes above 6k rpm and that's where all the fun starts. All though the engine is much much more refined than the original 200ns but still you can feel that aggresive character in it. I feel the braking could have been better specially the organic brake pads, I think bybre was much better. And the abs kicks in a bit sooner than needed. In terms of handling this bike is such a gem, with the new usd forks its better than ever, the bike feels so like yet so stable on highways and once you get it into corners, then you can actually unleash the full potential of this machine, the chassis and dynamics are so good, the bike just flows into corners, I think bajaj can do better job for tyres as well, the bike demands 110 and 140 sections. But Bajaj being Bajaj, they had to do cost cutting so. Overal I'd say an amazing experience so far not a single moment of regret. All I have is satisfaction and the urge to get on my bike again and go out for a spin...! Okay so if you're someone who is very much into techy features and all those stuff then you should stay away, there are many other competitors who are much better. But i think that's not the purpose of this bike. This machine is for someone who just wants to have fun every time they get on the bike, someone who want to feel that rush and adrenaline surge into your veins everytime you ride the bike, someone who wants to lean how to ride fast the right way, someone who cares more about the engaging riding feel and experience rather than spec sheets filled with all the tech gizmos... You should definitely go and have a proper ride on this bike to fell all that beforehand atleast once..! Read More
