The new Triumph Speed Triple can be considered as Old Wine in New Bottle. The reason is that it adorns all those features which were assimilated in erstwhile elder siblings. Triumph Speed Triple carries street fighter design merged with powerful performance, has been launched during Auto Expo 2012 jointly with its younger sibling Street Triple both adorning same features. The first generation of speed triple bike was code named as Speed Triple T300 that was launched in 1994. The Speed Triple T300 was considered as an homage to ‘speed twin’ which was manufactured in 1938 and was regarded as performance bike from Triumph.

The new Triumph Speed Triple will be available in Delhi with price tag of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom price in Delhi) and will be the tough contender of Honda CB1000R, Suzuki Bandit, Yamaha FZ1 and Yamaha MT-01. The original Speed Triple T300 was designed with single steel down tubes and was energized with engine supported by adjustable suspension to front and rear suspensions that made it a high performance bike. Later in 1997, Speed Triple was facelift with large engine and adorned big headlamps which were considered as ‘bug eye’. The frame was modified with twin tube aluminium frame followed by single sided swing arm. The clip introduced on handlebars in its version of 1994 was modified with regular handlebars.

All these features gave Speed Triple T300 an aggressive look. Commenting about looks of Triumph Speed Triple, experts are of view that this bike is not designed for display only but it also supports powerful performance with an user friendly handling to support the new riders. The 1050 cc engine churns the power of 133 BHP at 9400 rpm and torque of 111 Nm at 7750 rpm, followed by six speed gearbox. The bikes comes in two variants with anti breaking system and non anti breaking system. Price of non anti  breaking system variant is Rs 8,00,000 and the price of variant with anti breaking system is Rs 9,00,000, these prices are ex-showroom price in Delhi.
