Ather Energy recently launched their first family-oriented electric scooter, the Ather Rizta. But if you are not looking for a family electric scooter and want to explore other options then this list will come in handy.
We will be taking the top-end Ather Rizta Z 3.7kWh variant with the ProPack added, which will unlock the full-potential of the scooter bringing features such as Magic Twist regen braking as seen on the Ather 450 Apex, along with Ather’s new SkidControl feature which is basically a traction control system.
The e-scooter costs Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) and the ProPack comes at an additional price of Rs 20,000, bringing the total cost of the scooter to Rs 1,64,999 ex-showroom. Here are all the other options you can get at a similar price range:
Yamaha MT-15
If you’re looking for a Naked bike that packs good performance and handles sharply in the city then the Yamaha MT-15 will be the right choice. It features the same 155cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine as the Yamaha R15. The engine produces 18.4PS and 14.1Nm. The MT-15 comes at a price of Rs 1,68,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Hero Karizma XMR
If a naked bike doesn’t excite you then surely a supersport will and at a similar price range we have the Hero Karizma XMR. The bike comes with a sharp design and is powered by a 210cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that produces 25.5PS and 20.4Nm. Hitting corners on this will surely be an exciting experience. The bike comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1,79,900.
Hero XPulse 200 4V
If you’re not interested in on road performance then a bit of offroading will help. In this price range the Hero XPulse 200 4V will be able to satisfy your thirst for adventure. The bike is powered by a 199.6cc, air-and-oil-cooled engine that generates 19.17PS and 17.35Nm. The XPulse comes at a price of Rs 1,46,276 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Revolt RV400
If you’re looking for a simple and not so intimidating electric two-wheeler that can meet all your commuting needs then the Revolt RV400 is the right one for you. With its 3kW motor mated to a 3.24kWh lithium-ion battery, the RV400 is able to provide a claimed range of 150km. The e-bike comes at an ex-showroom Bengaluru price of Rs 1,54,950.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350
Not looking for a simple commuter? Then a bit of legacy, more power and a lot of feel would be ideal and in this case the best choice is the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. The retro roadster has the looks, performance and also stands out in the crowd. It comes with a 350cc air-cooled engine which churns out 20.4PS and 27Nm. The base Military variant starts at Rs 1,73,562 (ex-showroom Delhi).
