Ather Energy Mumbai, Pune Launch Timelines Announced

Ather has started accepting pre-bookings for the 450X in select cities 

• Deliveries for the scooter will commence in the third quarter of 2020.
• Ather will soon expand its reach in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.  
• The Ather 450 Plus and 450X are priced at Rs 1.49 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively. 

Tarun Mehta, the co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, in a retweet to a customer has revealed the company’s launch timeline for Pune and Mumbai. The EV brand will commence operations in Pune by November this year, which will be followed by Mumbai hopefully in the following month. 

The 450X, the newest offering from Ather, will be available in Q3 of 2020 across Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Kolkata -- followed by Pune, Mumbai and NCR. Interested customers can pre-book the scooter for a refundable deposit of Rs 2,500. Ather's expansion plans are fuelled by the fact that it has received over 2,000 requests for retail partnerships, as well as a healthy number of pre-orders not just from metro cities but various Tier-II and Tier-III cities as well. 

Ather currently offers two variants of its e-scooter: the standard 450 Plus and the top-spec 450X, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively. You can also opt for unlimited public charging, connected features and OTA software updates by paying a small monthly fee of Rs 400. This also includes scheduled services, doorstep pickup and RSA (Road Side Assistance). You can read all about the Ather 450X here.
