Ather 450S Price Revised, Now More Affordable By Rs 25,000

Ather has revised the price of their most affordable e-scooter, the Ather 450S. The scooter was sold at an ex-showroom Bengaluru (including FAME 2 subsidy) price of Rs 1,35,001.
Now Ather has further offered a Rs 25,002 discount bringing the final price to Rs 1,09,999. Additionally the cost of the Pro Pack was Rs 22,210 and Ather Battery Protect cost Rs 5,499. The prices of these two options have also been reduced to Rs 9,999 for the Pro Pack and Re 1 for the Ather Battery Protect. That ensures an extra saving of Rs 17,709. In Delhi the Ather 450S costs Rs 97,547 (ex-showroom, including FAME 2 and state subsidy).
The Pro Pack unlocks multiple riding modes, offers hill hold and brings on-board navigation along with theft and tow alerts, ‘Find my Scooter’, OTA updates among others. As for the Ather battery protect, it extends the battery warranty to 5 year/60,000 kilometers and also guarantees a 70% state of health for the battery at the end of 5 years. That means as the battery capacity reduces over time, the warranty ensures it will still be about 70 percent capacity at the end of 5 years.
This update from Ather is limited to price cuts and hasn't introduced any changes to the scooter’s performance. It is still powered by a 5.4 kW motor mated to a 2.9kWh battery and produces continuous power of 3.3 kW. It is able to achieve a claimed top speed of 90kmph with a certified range of 115km.
With this reduction in price Ather seeks to expand its footprint across tier 2 and tier 3 cities now the 450S has a major competitive advantage over its rivals. We’ve reached out to the company regarding clarification on what happens to customers who have booked the Ather 450S just before the announcement came in on January 10. We’ll update the story once we get an update from the brand.
For perspective, the Ola S1 Air is priced at Rs 1,19,999 , Bajaj Chetak Urbane variant comes at Rs 1,15,002 and the TVS iQube base variant comes at Rs 1,34,442. All prices ex-showroom Bengaluru with FAME 2 subsidy.
